The House of Representatives has voted to lift the longstanding ban on Pell Grants for people in state and federal prisons. The provision to lift the ban was included in the appropriations minibus that cleared the House.
F5 Project advocated to our congressmen in Washington to co-sponsor this opportunity for those who are sitting in prison to be able to have access to the Pell Grant. Representative Kelly Armstrong and Senator Kevin Cramer both responded with confirmation that they would.
now we wait and see what the Senate in Washington DC will do.
